Estonian company Kinotehnik has been founded in 2009 and they already have quite a few lights and other equipment in their portfolio. Now the company has just announced their newest compact rugged LED light panel – the Kinotehnik Practilite 802.

These LED panels are basically half the size of standard 1×1 light panels. At the same time they are about 50% more powerful than most popular 1×1 LED panels – Practilite 802 delivers 20.000 lux at 30-degree beam (4.000 lux at 90-degree beam, fully diffused) while consuming a maximum of 90W. The output is equivalent to 650-800W halogen tungsten, given the same beam diameter. The built-in 30-degree lens arrays are complemented by two rigid diffusers, which provide efficient diffusion for beam angles of 60- and 90-degrees.

Massive heatsink for silent cooling along with the control panel

The Kinotehnik Practilite 802 LED light employs advanced secondary optics to achieve better light output and power efficiency in a portable unit. The number “2” in the name stands for bi-color, meaning the color temperature can be adjusted between 3.000K and 6.000K. Practilite 802 is rugged, compact and is even weather sealed with an IP54 rating (dust and waterproof). Hand in hand with the weather sealing goes the passive cooling system managed by the large heatsink at the back of the LED panel. These lights are therefore silent, which is important for certain shoots.

The Kinotehnik Practilite 802 panels can be wirelessly controlled via smart devices, which might come especially handy when the light is hard to reach. These panels are mainly suitable for ENG, documentaries, reality TV productions and event videography thanks to their rugged and compact design. The thrust lock system allows for tilting and adjusting the fixture safely with one hand without re-tightening any knobs. The position can also be fully locked. Practilite 802 panels can be powered either through a DC power cable (19V Adapter) or by battery. Kinotehnik provides V-Mount and Gold Mount battery plates and D-Tap cables as accessories.
