Want to decide how smooth or coarse your blur is? This is the effect to use.

The next few movies we’re going to share from our retired Insight Into Effects course for Adobe Affects will focus on some less-used blurs. Box Blur is one of the most versatile in that you can decide how many “iterations” are used to determine the smoothness of the blur, going anywhere from a low-res over-compressed look to creating wispy clouds of faint color from your original footage.
