Quarantine is slowly starting to be lifted all around the world. Some people like Tim Irwin, a documentary cinematographer, have put this quarantine downtime to good use by creating and launching a new product: the Battery Mag.

The idea behind this product is simple: It allows you to store all your camera batteries in one place, so they don’t fly around unprotected in your camera bag.

You can flip your batteries inside the Battery Mags to identify which ones are dead.

Also, by flipping your batteries in the Battery Mag, you can quickly identify which ones are full and which ones need to be charged. These battery holders are 3D-printed and made out of black PLA+ filament, which is a robust thermoplastic polymer.

At the moment, the Battery Mags are available for:

    • A model that is compatible with Panasonic DMW-BLF19, Canon LP-E6/N, and Pentax DLI90 batteries, available in three or four slots.
    • One three-slot model for Sony NP-FZ100 batteries.
    • A three or four slots model for Sony NP-FW50 batteries.
    • One three-slot model for Panasonic S1 series batteries.

    Pricing and Availability

Prices range from $9.00 to $14.00 and depend on the model/number of slots you choose. The Battery Mags are available now, but due to high demand, all models are currently about a 3 to 4 week lead time. Tim Irwin ordered additional 3D printers to keep up with the orders, which is good news! For more information and order one, you can visit Battery Mag’s website here.
