FilmConvert has just released a new camera pack specifically designed for the Canon EOS R6. This Canon EOS R6 profile is compatible with FilmConvert, FilmConvert Nitrate, and CineMatch, so you can perfectly color match and grade your footage with FilmConvert tools.

If you’re new to FilmConvert plugins, these color matching (CineMatch) and color correction (FilmConvert/FilmConvert Nitrate) allows you to quickly and easily grade your footage based on your camera’s sensor data. Indeed, FilmConvert’s plugins are precise tools that work best when you select the camera you shot with at the beginning of the process.

Many camera profiles are already available for various cameras, including the Panasonic S5, the Canon EOS C70, the Sony a7S III, and the Canon EOS R5. To go with the EOS R/R5, FilmConvert has just released a new profile for the EOS R6.

The Canon EOS R6 was announced back in July 2020, but even if its big brother, the R5, caught most of the attention, this mirrorless camera is a competent tool for filmmakers. In a nutshell, the EOS R6 features a 20.1-megapixel full-frame sensor, and it can record footage up to 4K at 60p in 10-bit or Full HD at up to 120fps. Unfortunately, it still suffered from severe overheating issues at launch, and you can learn more about it in our hands-on review.

If you can work within these limitations – or simply record externally to an Atomos recorder – FilmConvert has just released a new profile for the Canon EOS R6. This will make filmmakers’ lives easier for sure, allowing you to precisely match various Canon cameras together, color grade your footage to get a sweet “film look”, or even process much more complex camera matches thanks to CineMatch.

    Price and availability

As usual with FilmConvert, this camera profile is available to download for free, but you need to have licensed the software in order to use it of course. Yet you can try FilmConvert Nitrate and CineMatch for free, and you can even get a 10% discount on purchases from FilmConvert using this link.

For more information and to download it, please visit FilmConvert’s website here.
