SLR Magic has just released two new versions of its MicroPrime CINE 21mm T/1.6 lens for FUJIFILM X-Mount and Sony E-Mount mirrorless cameras. The FUJIFILM X-Mount version covers Super 35 sensors, while the Sony E-Mount version covers full-frame sensors. In 2019, the Chinese lens manufacturer SLR Magic launched the SLR Magic MicroPrime CINE 21mm T/1.6 and 50mm T/1.4 for Micro Four Thirds cameras. The success of these compact and affordable cine primes was instant. Based on that success, the company started making FUJIFILM X-Mount versions of their MicroPrime CINE lenses. In addition, they now continue to expand their lineup with the launch of the MicroPrime CINE 21mm T/1.6 in both FUJIFILM X and Sony E-Mounts. The front diameter of the lens is 85mm for clip-on matte boxes, and it has an 82mm filter thread. What’s nice is that nearly all SLR Magic MicroPrime CINE lenses have a similar form factor and weight, making lens swaps a breeze. However, the Sony E-Mount version covers Full-Frame sensors, making it ideal for filmmakers that use mirrorless cameras or cinema cameras like the Sony FX3/FX6. Price and availability The MicroPrime CINE 21mm T/1.6 in FUJIFILM X-Mount and Sony E-Mount versions is available now for USD449. For more information, please visit SLR Magic’s website here.
